Hønefoss June 19, 2013 - Mr. Christopher Kubasik former President and Chief Operating Officer of Lockheed Martin Corporation has accepted a position to join the Board of Directors of Norsk Titanium Components AS (NTiC). NTiC is working closely with Spirit Aerosystems to complete the qualification process for the aerospace industry for its near-net-shape titanium production technology, and Mr. Kubasik’s appointment is part of the company’s strategy to position itself as a major supplier of Ti components to the industry.

June, 2013 Norsk Titanium Components AS (NTiC) and Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., [NYSE: SPR] reached a significant milestone in a multi-year collaboration for Direct Metal Deposition (DMD) technology. Together the companies have achieved technology readiness level six (TRL6), demonstrating the ability to meet aerospace material requirements.

Norsk Titanium Components signs supply contract with Kvaerner Piping Technology

Oslo, October 11th 2011.Norsk Titanium Components (NTiC), the producer of complex titanium components, today signed a three year general agreement with Kvaerner Piping Technology. Under the agreement NTiC will supply titanium couplings to Kvaerner Piping Technology as part of their system delivery to Trelleborg Offshore’s Elastopipe fire protection systems, used in the offshore oil and gas industry.

NTiC has developed a ‘near net shape’ additive layer manufacturing (ALM) technology that enables the production of high quality titanium components at very competitive cost. The process transforms in just three processing steps titanium feedstock into complex components that are up to 90 % finished compared with the final shape of a product. This results in a significant reduction in the amount of raw material that has to be machined away to make titanium parts.

Prior to becoming a supplier to Kvaerner Piping Technology, the NTiC-produced Elastopipe couplings have passed rigorous testing to ensure that material quality and properties meet the high standards necessary for the types of products in question.
